Save music: Recording music while surfing
If you want to record the music you are listening to while surfing in the Internet you can use the Save music view. XStream Xtra detects the music you are listening to and saves the songs on your PC.

- Save music recordings automatically
Whenever you record music from web sites with the Save music function you can choose to have your recordings saved automatically.
Choosing the right recording tool

Switch to the Save music view in the navigation pane, located on the left side of the XStream Xtra window.

Click
Audio/ music recording. A dropdown menu opens.

Mind the recommendations for popular web sites (green).
- Click the recording tool that is recommended for the web site or program you want to record from.
- If there is no recommendation for the web site or program you want to record from: Try to record with Direct Recording into tracks.
Note: If you have troubles recording with Direct Recording into tracks or Sound Recording into tracks try to record the desired audio stream with Continuous sound recording. -
Optional: Click Save automatically and check all offered options to have all your Save music recordings saved automatically.

Play back the music you want to record. All detected songs will be listed in the Save music view.

Pick a song from the list and click
Save.
Results
The song will be saved on your computer and appears in the Player after a while.

Sound recording into tracks
Activate this feature while you are surfing to record what you are listening to. XStream Xtra will split and tag the songs automatically.
Before you begin
Whenever you record music with Sound Recording into tracks XStream Xtra records everything you hear. Incidental noises, such as those from a chat program will also be recorded. It is recommended to close other programms during the recording process to avoid disruptions.

Switch to the Save music view in the navigation pane, located on the left side of the XStream Xtra window.

Audio/ music recording >
Sound Recording into tracks. A dialog opens.

Click
- Set session tags to enter tags for your recording session and click OK.
- Start recording now if you want to start the recording without setting tags.

Pick a song from the list and click
Save.
Results
The song will be saved on your computer and appears in the Player after a while.

Continuous sound recording
Some songs cannot be detected automatically. In this case you can record the audio stream with the Continuous sound recording function.

Whenever you record music with Continuous sound recording XStream Xtra records everything you hear. Incidental noises, such as those from a chat program will also be recorded.

Switch to the Save music view in the navigation pane, located on the left side of the XStream Xtra window.

Continuous sound recording.

Click OK. XStream Xtra starts the continuous sound recording.

Play back the music you want to record. Everything you hear will be recorded.

Click
Audio/ music recording to stop and save the recording.
Results
The track will be saved on your computer and appears in the Player after a while.
