What are icons?
Small pictures or symbols on the user interface are called icons.
Icons can represent functions, features or content.
General symbols used throughout XStream Xtra
Symbol | Description | Meaning |

Green plus sign | This symbol denotes buttons, with which you may add various elements, e.g. station, wishes, podcasts or files. |

Red X | This symbol denotes buttons, with which you may delete various elements. For example, you may delete stations from your favorites, delete media files from the player or wishes from your wishlist. |

Green arrow | This symbol denotes both ongoing recordings, as well as buttons that can be used to start recording or converting. |

White hand on a red hexagon | This symbol denotes buttons, with which you can stop running processes. You can stop individual recording and conversion processes, or you can click Stop all to stop all recordings and processes currently running. |

Pin | This symbol labels the Pin button. Click the pin button to pin the current category to the Home view. In future, you can go to this category from the Home view with just a single click. |

Pencil | This symbol labels the edit menu. Select a media file and open the edit menu to see all your edit options for this file (for example cutting, tagging or normalizing). |

Filter | This symbol labels the button for setting filter options. If any filter is active, the button is highlighted in color. |

Yellow LED display | This symbol denotes views and features that are currently active and ready for activities like recordings and data transfer. |

Green LED display | This symbol denotes views and features that are currently running with activities like recordings and data transfer. |
Symbols used for Internet radio stations
Symbol | Description | Meaning |

Yellow star | This symbol denotes radio stations that are included in your favorites. |

Bar graph | This symbol denotes the popularity of a station. The greater the number of bars indicated, the greater the popularity among XStream Xtra users. |

Green arrow | This symbol denotes both ongoing recordings, as well as buttons that can be used to start recording or converting. |

Yellow arrow | This symbol denotes stations which are recorded, but their currently playing song will be discarded. This is because the song would be incomplete, since it began playing before recording was started. The station will enter normal recording state as soon as a new song begins. Note: If the yellow arrow even after a longer recording won't turn green the station might be unsuitable for recordings with automatic song cutting feature. Anyhow you have the opportunity to record this station continously. Later you may edit your continuous recordings to cut the songs manually. |

Radio with white eye | This symbol indicates that some stations are hidden due to customized settings for station quality. The eye symbol vanishes if you change the quality settings back to default, or if you choose even less restrictive settings. Click Manage bitrates and stream types to experiment with the quality settings or to change them back to default. |

Empty gray arrow | This symbol denotes stations that are not suitable for recordings with automatic song cutting features. Anyhow you have the opportunity to record these stations continuously. Later you may edit your continuous recordings to cut the songs manually. Note: Generally speaking, every station can be used for recordings. However, the automatic song cutting features are only expected to function for those stations that are indicated as being suitable. |

Filled gray arrow | This symbol denotes stations that are suitable for recordings with automatic song cutting features. The fuller the arrow, the greater the amount of songs that can be recorded per hour. |

Yellow star with green arrows | This symbol denotes subscribed podcasts. If you subscribe a podcast XStream Xtra will download new episodes automatically as soon as they are available. |
Symbols used for Converter
Symbol | Description | Meaning |

Red padlock | This symbol denotes files for which playback is restricted in some way. For example, playback could only be possible on this computer, or only possible with a valid music service subscription. |

Red exclamation point | This symbol denotes files on which an error has occurred during playback or converting. |

Photo | This symbol denotes files that are neither audio nor video files. This can e.g. be cover pictures (image files). |

Yellow LED display | This symbol denotes your Anywhere connection status. Yellow means active and waiting for data transfer. |

List with red X | This symbol labels the button for removing a media file from a playlist. |

Blue arrow | This symbol denotes linked audio files in a playlist. Linked files are not saved on your computer. Whenever you use the music search, you have the possibility to add a link to your playlist instead of actually downloading the file. Linked files can be played as long as the URL is valid and your computer is connected to the Internet. You cannot edit tags of linked files. |
